The session covers drug courts and their outcome evidence, MAT in jails and prisons including federal Bureau of Prisons expansion, re-entry models bridging incarceration and community treatment, the elevated post-release overdose risk window, treatment-vs-incarceration trial evidence including the SUMMIT and HEAL JCOIN consortium results, and sentencing reform including the bipartisan First Step Act.
